Valentine’s Day: Celebrating Self-Love and Inner Bliss.

Woman nurture self love

As we know, Valentine’s Day is geared toward expressing of love for another person, but the most important love you’ll ever know is the love you feel for yourself.

As an Energy & Self-Love Coach, I am passionate about supporting women to dive deep into finding their own true love – themselves.

And I have a morning routine to share with you that does just that!

So here are some simple, yet effective ways to infuse more self-love into your day:

  1. Gratitude – Begin your day by expressing gratitude for yourself (mind, body and heart) and your life. Take a moment to reflect on all the things you appreciate about yourself, your journey and your opportunities ahead.
  2. Mindful movement – Incorporate gentle movement into your morning routine. Whether it’s gentle yoga, simple stretching or a brisk walk, connecting with your body in a loving and mindful way for just a few minutes can help ground you and set a positive tone for the day.
  3. Affirmations – Start your day with empowering affirmations that reinforce self-love and confidence (you can even do this while still in bed!) Simple phrases such as “I am enough”, “I love and respect myself” and “I honour myself and my decisions” can go a long way towards retraining the mind. We are our biggest critics, so it’s important to express loving kindness towards yourself.
  4. Eat a Nourishing Breakfast – treat yourself to food that nourishes you and fuels your body and soul. Choose foods that make you feel healthy, energised and vibrant. Take the time to slow down and savour each bite mindfully.
  5. Set your Intentions – Take a few moments to set your intentions for your day. Focus on what you want to cultivate more of in your life and how you want to feel. Do you want to feel more courage? More compassion for yourself? More joy?
  6. Check-in with your boundaries – Before heading out for your day, take a moment to check in with your boundaries. Remind yourself that it’s okay to say no to things that drain your energy or don’t align with your values. Prioritise your own needs and well-being.

Sometimes it’s tricky to stay open-hearted amongst life’s challenges so it’s important to keep practices in place to cultivate self-love.

Here are a few strategies to help you stay connected to your heart throughout the day.

  1. Practice Compassion – Be kind and gentle with yourself, especially when facing difficult times or emotions. Treat yourself with the same understanding and compassion as you would offer a close friend.
  2. Connect with Nature – Spend time outdoors with the beauty of nature. Whether it’s a walk in the park, sitting near water, or simply having your lunch outside and gazing at the sky, immersing yourself in nature can help you feel grounded and connected.
  3. Cultivate Gratitude – Remind yourself to take moments throughout the day to appreciate the small joys and blessings in your life. Developing a sense of gratitude can help to shift your perspective and open up your heart to more love and abundance.
  4. Practice Forgiveness – Let go of grudges and resentments that are weighing you down. Forgiveness is a powerful act of self-love that frees you from past hurts and allows you to move forward with an open heart.
  5. Express Love – show love and kindness to others, whether it’s through a smile, kind words or a simple act of generosity. When you give freely, you create space for more love to flow into your life.

Remember that self-love is a journey, not a destination. It can take time to tame the critic within and establish better patterns of self-love and self-care.

By incorporating these simple practices into your day and staying connected to your heart, you can further foster your sense of love, compassion and confidence within yourself.

I’m wishing you an inspired and nurturing Valentine’s Day, filled with lots of your own love!
